Perfect partnership: from four to six

We are pleased to announce that James Haywood and Jack Moore have been appointed partners.

Jack Moore and James Haywood will be joining the leadership team as partners of the firm. The decision is in recognition of the contribution they've made – not only in terms of technical ability, but also commercial awareness, leadership skills and creative ideas. They'll be joining the current group of partners - John Wallis, Iain Barker, Wendy O'Connor and Neil Moon.

James Haywood makes history for the firm, being the first Partner to have taken part in the firm's placement scheme in 2011 and graduate scheme in 2013. Shortly after qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2017 he was given the opportunity to spend three months working with a partner accounting firm in Boston, US, as part of the Page Kirk exchange programme with CPAmerica. Upon his return he was promoted to assistant manager then to manager in 2020.

During his time at Page Kirk, James has successfully developed a niche within the firm, specialising in the accounts and audits for the charity and not-for-profit sector, alongside his work with the firm's other business clients. James' in-depth knowledge of this industry combined with strong commercial awareness, and consistent support for the less experienced members of staff has helped bring the firm forward – both in terms of skills and in new business opportunities.

James Haywood commented:

“Firstly, I want to say thank you to current partners, John Wallis, Wendy O'Connor and Iain Barker. They have been fantastic to work for, ever since my first day in September 2011, and I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to be one of the leaders of the firm. Secondly, I want to thank every member of staff that I have worked with during this time. Everyone has been magnificent and has had a profound effect on what I have become today. Thirdly, I want to thank every one of our clients. I have really enjoyed working with them and I hope that this relationship continues to go from strength to strength in the future. Finally, I want to thank my parents and wife for their unwavering support during my life, especially while at Page Kirk. Without them, I would not be where I am today”

Jack has over 10 years' experience in practice, completing his AAT exams in 2012 and then qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2014. Since his promotion from Assistant Manager to Cloud Accounting Manager last year, he has continued his hard work in progressing the firm, both strategically and technically – helping to implement industry-changing technologies, preparing Page Kirk and its clients for the future. With Jack demonstrating adaptability, a passion for business development and clear leadership skills, he has been promoted from Manager to Partner of the firm.

Jack Moore commented:

“Being invited to join the Page Kirk Partnership is an incredibly proud moment for me. To be involved at this level, with such a genuinely forward-thinking firm, is exciting and I look forward to contributing to the growth and development of Page Kirk over the coming years. Invitation to Partnership is a great accolade in its own right, but for John, Wendy & Iain to demonstrate such a level of belief in me, before I've even turned 30 years of age, is humbling and is testament to some of the fantastic people who have helped my development throughout my career so far. This is an exciting time for the accountancy industry in general, with the ever-more rapid advancement of new technologies redefining how effectively businesses are able to look after their accounts and utilise their business data. To be given a platform where I can help shape the firm's direction over the coming years is a fantastic challenge which I fully intend to make the most of.”

This comes off the back off two promotions announced at the end of March and Neil Moon joining the partnership at the start of October last year.

Page Kirk are now proud to have a multi-generational leadership team, helping to keep the practice modern and innovative, whilst maintaining tradition where necessary. With James and Jack being 30 and 29 years old respectively, the firm now has a diverse cross-generational leadership with clients being able to work with partners of their own generation if they choose so.

John Wallis, Senior Partner commented

“We are excited to ask James and Jack to join the partnership. Both are inspiring leaders with different backgrounds and different strengths that complement each other and they will be a great asset to the partnership. I am confident that our diverse leadership will bring innovative ideas that best serve and maintain relationships with our clients. Over time, both James and Jack have grown at Page Kirk and are now ready to step into incredibly important positions. Their promotion is a recognition of their contribution and outstanding commitment to the business and a reflection of their hard work throughout the coronavirus pandemic. It gives me great pleasure to congratulate James and Jack on their promotion on behalf of the whole team.”
