Five reasons to be cheerful

Despite the coronavirus pandemic and the associated recession, we're proud that Page Kirk is continuing to expand. As a result, we're able to announce some exciting news. We're welcoming five new members to the Page Kirk family, expanding the skills and expertise we're able to offer to our clients.

Jo Poulter

Jo Poulter, a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant, is going to be heading up our Payroll Department. She has over 25 years of payroll experience, which started when she used a manual system for a family business at 14 years of age. Jo's role will involve providing clients with a payroll service which is stress-free, accurate, timely and compliant.

She says: “I am looking forward to working with the other members of the team, getting to know the clients and maintaining the high standards of professionalism and service found in the payroll department. All with a smile!“

Our next addition to the team is Cloud Accounting Technician Jade Hutchinson. Cloud accounting technologies are clearly more important than ever and Jade lives and breathes them, specialising in third-party apps that enhance user experience.

Jade commented:

“I am delighted to be joining the firm at such a critical time for cloud accounting and one that is both QuickBooks and Xero partners. I am looking forward to improving the automation and efficiency of the bookkeeping service for our clients and selecting the best technologies for their requirements.”

Mathew Walton

Trainee Accountant, Matthew Walton has recently graduated from Aston University with a first-class honours degree in Maths and Economics:

“I am looking forward to becoming a Chartered Accountant,” he says, “and building knowledge of new accounting skills and practices. I'll also be getting a better understanding of the accounting world. I am excited to work with – and build a rapport with – a variety of clients and get to know my new colleagues.”

Matthew be joined by James Allsop, who left The University of Lincoln with first-class honours in Accounting and Finance.

James explains: “I am really excited to be a part of Page Kirk and start the next chapter of my life after university. I hope that during my time with the firm, I can become a fully qualified accountant and learn plenty of skills from the team I will be working with.”

James Tarr

Of course, we regularly welcome placement students too, who are looking for valuable work experience as part of their university course. It's a great way of spotting and nurturing future talent. That's why we're inviting James Tarr to join us for a year from Loughborough University.

James told us: “I'm passionate about helping people and doing the best job I can, both in and out of work. I look forward to learning all the important attributes needed for the future. After completing my degree, I hope to come back and pursue a career at Page Kirk.”

John Wallis, our Senior Partner, welcomed all the new arrivals:

“The team always looks forward to new starters, as they offer new experiences and knowledge that will help the firm to become more efficient and better at serving clients. That's of key importance through such a turbulent time in the economy. I will be supporting the five new starters in developing their future career aspirations. Investing in our team members, their career growth and seeing their happiness and satisfaction is one of our highest priorities. It has built a work culture unafraid of innovation, change, and success.”
