It’s the Page Kirk Lockdown Challenge!
With England now into its second lockdown, we have been thinking up ways to stay connected with each other while working from home.
It's hard for everybody right now. And as we temporarily become more isolated again to combat coronavirus, the wellbeing of our employees is at the forefront of our minds. After all, it's only with a happy, healthy workforce that we're able to achieve great things that lead to better results for our clients.
Our latest challenge is one that rewards effort rather than ability. Yes, we've decided to bring some Page Kirk competitive fun to lockdown, getting the team out and about and placing an emphasis on the importance of regular exercise. We hope that our plans will keep everyone together virtually, throughout a time where social isolation and loneliness can be all too common. Let's keep motivated!
Twenty-seven of our staff members have been split into two teams and each will be recording the number of miles they complete through the various walks, runs, cycles and workouts that team members collectively complete whilst we're stuck in lockdown.
We know that not everyone is capable of the same level of physical activity, so we decided we needed to make things fair. So we've created a points system that recognises people's effort along the way.
Wendy O'Connor, Page Kirk partner, had the idea to do the challenge.
“It is a great way to have some competitive fun, get fit and create that team spirit we all enjoy and miss when we are not in the office,” she says. “We all enjoy that spirit and camaraderie – honestly, you cannot beat it. It is a great sense of achievement. Page Kirk thrives on teamwork. And activities, such as the lockdown challenge, are a way of promoting collaboration. Already both teams are motivating their members to keep going on days they feel less enthusiastic. Encouraging them to put their trainers on and go for a run! I can't wait to see what both teams achieve over the coming days.”
Meet the teams taking part in Page Kirk's challenge. Which team do you think will gain the most points by the end of lockdown?!
