Nick Giles tops the class!

Chartered Institute of Taxation disctinction

at The Nottingham Belfry Hotel.

Congratulations to our very own Nick Giles, who was recently awarded a distinction by the Chartered Institute of Taxation for his exam paper on Inheritance Tax, Trusts and Estates in Administration. What's more, Nick got the highest marks in the East Midlands for his last set of exams, a huge achievement among thousands of accountancy students.

The success is made all the more impressive by the fact that accountancy is actually a change of career for Nick, who started out as a chef! While still working in the food industry, he studied for ACCA part-time before joining Page Kirk as a trainee tax advisor, where he completed his exams and went on to study for the CTA.

Now a specialist in Inheritance Tax, Trusts and Estates, Nick says:

"I would have been happy just to pass these exams so to do so well has been amazing. The CTA exams are pitched at a really high level and being able to reach that standard has been helped massively by Page Kirk giving me so much responsibility and exposure to varied and complex work from early on in my career, as well as their support for my studies. I am now enjoying using the technical knowledge that I've gained to help our clients and hope to continue to add to the range and depth of tax services that we as a firm can offer."

Wendy, our Tax Partner, added:

“We are extremely proud of Nick. It is a remarkable achievement, which also sets a precedent for the rest of the team. Nick is very hard-working and deserves to be recognised in this way. He is not just academic but also excels in customer service and always goes above and beyond for our clients. I'm excited to see how his career progresses with Page Kirk.”
