Happy Retirement Jacqui

After a 49-year career, Jacqui Bradford is retiring.

Jacqui has been an integral part of our secretarial team, leading the work for our tax department working for Page Kirk partners Wendy O'Connor and Neil Moon. Joining Page Kirk in 2016, Jacqui brought with her a wealth of experience that made her one of the best in her field.

Her journey began when she enrolled in secretarial school in 1975, where she discovered her passion for the work she does. Throughout her career, she has worked across all chartered accountancy departments, including audit, accounts, tax and corporate finance.

For the last eight years, Jacqui has been dedicated to looking after our clients, ensuring they are onboarded correctly and managing their company secretarial requirements, while maintaining the accuracy of records held by Companies House.

Though Jacqui once dreamed of becoming an air stewardess, standing at just under 5 feet tall prevented her from meeting the height requirements. Nevertheless, she took a break from her secretarial work to pursue this dream, spending six months as a ground stewardess at East Midlands Airport. Reflecting on this experience, Jacqui expressed gratitude for the opportunity but said she missed the client relationships she formed while working as a secretary.

Neil Moon, one of Page Kirk's partners, commented on Jacqui's retirement, praising her dedication:

“Jacqui's dedication, professionalism, and commitment to our clients and our firm have been of the highest standard. Her meticulous attention to detail and exceptional service have been invaluable assets to Page Kirk, and her presence will be sorely missed. Jacqui's legacy will continue to inspire us, reminding us of the standard of excellence we strive to uphold in all that we do. We thank her for all her hard work.”

Jacqui commented:

“First - I am trying to comprehend how the years have rolled by and I now find myself embracing the next stage of my life, retirement! My secretarial career has mostly been in professional offices, solicitors doing conveyancing work and then secretarial roles within chartered accountancy firms. The break from this, as mentioned above, was 6 months working as a ground stewardess for British Midland Airways based at East Midlands Airport, which was fabulous. It felt like a lifestyle rather than “paid work”!

I had a seven-year break from working whilst bringing up our two boys to school age before continuing. The world of work had started to evolve and I did a course on how to use a Data Processor as typewriters were fast becoming a thing of the past! I mastered data processing and then a little later on I embraced computers and new technology. I got “with the beat” as they say in the film Jungle Book!

Second - I have relished learning company secretarial work for Page Kirk clients and I have enjoyed my time working alongside wonderful colleagues. Thank you for your friendship and support. I am swapping secretarial work for more time with my granddaughter and I will be taking our little dog for more walks, which I am sure he will appreciate. I am looking forward to it.

Last but not least - I would like to wish Page Kirk clients all the very best and to my friends and colleagues, I wish you lots of happiness now and in the future.”

All of us at Page Kirk want to extend our warmest wishes to Jacqui for a happy and fulfilling retirement, as she begins this new chapter of her life.
