In February, Page Kirk proudly extended its support to Brinsley Animal Rescue, our second charity of the year. Page Kirk partner James Haywood shares the remarkable work carried out by this exceptional charity.

In the heart of Nottinghamshire, nestled in the quaint village of Brinsley, lies a sanctuary for animals in need – Brinsley Animal Rescue. This haven of compassion and care is dedicated to providing refuge and rehabilitation to animals facing neglect, abuse or abandonment. Brinsley Animal Rescue do incredible work to make a difference in the lives of countless animals. The charity is run entirely by volunteers and they have no paid staff. All of the money raised therefore goes directly in helping the animals.

Brinsley Animal Rescue was founded with a simple yet profound mission – to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in distress. The Rescue was born out of a deep-seated love for animals and a commitment to making a positive impact on their lives. What started as a small-scale initiative has now blossomed into a fully-fledged sanctuary that serves as a safe haven for a diverse array of different animals.

The sanctuary operates from the residence of Jon and Beth, founders of the charity. They generously donate the use of their home and 22 acres across two closely situated sites to the charity, free of charge.

The dedicated team of volunteers works tirelessly to rescue animals from various situations, including neglectful environments and abusive situations, or they simply cater for animals that find themselves without a home. The charity doesn't discriminate – it welcomes animals of all shapes and sizes, providing each with the care and attention they need to heal.

The rehabilitation process at Brinsley Animal Rescue is a holistic approach that addresses not only the physical health of the animals but also their emotional well-being. From veterinary care to specialised attention for animals with behavioural issues, every effort is made to ensure that each resident receives the personalised care they deserve.

Beyond the sanctuary walls, Brinsley Animal Rescue is actively involved in educational initiatives and advocacy work. The team believes that by raising awareness about animal welfare issues, they can contribute to a broader change in attitudes and behaviours towards animals. Whether it's hosting workshops, participating in community events or leveraging the power of social media, Brinsley Animal Rescue strives to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

The Brinsley Animal Rescue story is not just about the animals; it's also about building a compassionate community. The Rescue actively engages with the local community, fostering a sense of responsibility and empathy towards animals. Volunteers, donors and supporters play a crucial role in the success of the sanctuary, creating a network of individuals dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of animals in need.

During February I'm proud to say the Page Kirk team went above and beyond to support the Rescue's pets, wild animals and farm animals. We donated money, played spin to win and dressed down.

The Charity needs to raise £1,500 every single week to run the Rescue. These funds help provide animal food, bedding veterinary costs and expenditure for housing.
