At Page Kirk, we are passionate about supporting young people in our local community. That's why we are thrilled to announce our sponsorship of Noah Wiklo, a talented go-karting enthusiast with a passion for speed and a drive to succeed.

Noah, who's now seven, is an enthusiastic footballer and also loves Maths and PE at school. But he found his passion for racing when he received a ride-on Jaguar car from his grandfather at the age of three. From there, he fell in love with cars and driving. And last year, at the age of six, Noah drove his first go-kart at Rookie Racing at Fulbeck Karting Club.

The young man enjoys the competitive aspect of go-karting and the speed, as well as the friendships he has made. He also admits that racing can be scary though, particularly when there are accidents or when the weather conditions are poor.

It has taken a lot of patience and time to learn how to drive both well and fast, Noah says, but his Mum and Dad have spent a lot of time coaching him, watching video footage and offering advice on how to be even better. He also gives credit to a friend in Cadets, Theo, who gives him lots of tips. 'I call him my mini coach,' Noah jokes.

Noah currently races in the Bambino Kart category and has a Wright Minotaur chassis that can go up to 43mph. Guiding him on the path to success is his engine builder, Dan Atkin from Passion Karting. With Dan's expertise, Noah's kart performs at its peak on the racetrack. To enhance his driving experience the kart also has a new Jecko silver seat, which Noah says is 'better to drive with'. Noah is really dedicated, practising every Saturday and sometimes the day before too – getting a feel for the track where he's going to be racing on the Sunday.

The races usually last for approximately nine minutes, plus one lap. The number of laps varies depending on the track. There is a lot of competition in go-kart racing, and Noah tries his best and has fun while handling the pressure.

But it hasn't been all plain sailing. The young driver has experienced setbacks, such as engine failures and accidents, but he perseveres and continues to try his best. Ultimately, it's made him a better driver. His first win was the last round of MSUK in November 2022 and then he went on to win the Teeside Winter Cup in 2023.

Go-karting has become a big part of Noah's family life, and the Wiklos spend three weekends a month at karting tracks. Although racing can be time-consuming, it has made Noah more confident, and he has made great friends through the sport. Just a year into competitive racing, Noah is hoping to win both the MSUK Fulbeck and Tattershall sprint championships and to be placed in the top ten in Bambino Kart Club.

Noah's parents have played a significant role in his development as a racer. Noah's dad, Stefan Wiklo, confesses to being a massive petrol head himself, and has his own racing car. Stefan says:

“Noah has shown us more resilience and patience than I've ever seen in a child so young. He's had to overcome so many boundaries and setbacks from being at the back or being the slowest, to engines blowing up, lots of rain, adapting to new tracks and new karts. He's shown so much grit. Noah's driving has progressed so much in the last couple of months”.

The sponsorship from Page Kirk will help Noah massively to develop his skills as a driver. Stefan continues:

“We couldn't be more grateful that you have chosen to give Noah this opportunity by sponsoring him and enabling his driving to progress into a higher level. This sport isn't cheap, and it has helped us as a family to be able to give Noah the experience that he wants to be able to drive with some of the best Bambino racers in the UK and to develop his race-craft.”

We certainly look forward to following Noah's progress throughout the season.
