Who are we looking for?

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, positive and well-organised individual with strong communication skills. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • At least two years’ experience in a similar tax role would be preferred
  • Or you may be an experienced accountant looking to transition into tax
  • Professional qualifications such as ATT, CTA, AAT, ACA or ACCA are preferred (or be working towards)
  • Alternatively, we’ll also consider qualified by experience (QBE) candidates

What’s the opportunity?

You’ll primarily manage compliance matters for a portfolio of personal tax clients. There will also be opportunities to get involved in tax research and advisory work, particularly relating to:

  • Income tax
  • Capital gains tax
  • Inheritance tax

What you’ll be doing:

  • Day to day management of your own portfolio of clients including HNW individuals, company directors, sole traders, professional partnerships and trusts.
  • Client facing.
  • Preparation of self-assessment personal tax returns.
  • Reviewing work carried out by more junior members of the team.
  • Preparation of forms P11d (return of benefits and expenses).
  • Carry out tax research and summarise findings.
  • Checking HM Revenue & Customs correspondence and communications issued to the client.
  • Representing the client in the event of an HM Revenue & Customs investigation.
  • Written and verbal communications with clients and HM Revenue & Customs.
  • Working to weekly/monthly/quarterly deadlines as part of the wider team.
  • Helping to prepare blogs and articles relevant to your area of work when required.
