Who are we looking for:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and well-organised individual with good communication skills. At least two years relevant work experience in a similar role would be preferred, but an experienced accountant looking to move into tax will be considered. Relevant tax or accountancy qualifications would be preferred, but not essential - ATT/CTA/AAT/ACA/ACCA/QBE
The opportunity:
The role primarily involves managing compliance matters for a portfolio of personal tax clients, and there will be opportunities to carry out tax research and tax advisory work including, but not necessarily limited to, income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax.
There will be an opportunity for the right candidate to further progress their professional qualifications should they wish, with a fully supported study package.
Duties will include:
- Day to day management of your own portfolio of clients including HNW individuals, company directors, sole traders, professional partnerships and trusts.
- Client facing.
- Preparation of self-assessment personal tax returns.
- Reviewing work carried out by more junior members of the team.
- Preparation of forms P11d (return of benefits and expenses).
- Carry out tax research and summarise findings.
- Checking HM Revenue & Customs correspondence and communications issued to the client.
- Representing the client in the event of an HM Revenue & Customs investigation.
- Written and verbal communications with clients and HM Revenue & Customs.
- Working to weekly/monthly/quarterly deadlines as part of the wider team.
- Helping to prepare blogs and articles relevant to your area of work when required.

- Confident and personable.
- Hard-working, trustworthy and diligent, must have good attention to detail and take pride in presenting accurate work.
