Joshua Ruthven

“After achieving a 2:1 in a non-accounting related degree I was concerned I would struggle to adapt to my new environment, but the support network at Page Kirk has been fantastic and allowed me to settle in straightaway. Studying for the ACA CTA qualification alongside working has enabled me to learn a vast amount of knowledge, but also at the same time apply it on a day-to-day basis. The CTA qualification has helped me gain a real insight into the intricacies of tax legislation. It has also helped me to solve complex tax issues in practice. In the office, I have gained invaluable experience compiling tax returns and more recently completing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.”

Tom Leigh

“Page Kirk provides full sponsorship for gaining the ACA professional qualification and provides significant support throughout the process. The company is full of people willing to help with any issue and everyone is easy to get along with which makes it an enjoyable environment to work in. The opportunities I’ve been given are fantastic as I can become a qualified accountant within three years with an opportunity to work in America for three months as part of an employee exchange programme.”

Steph Gubas

“Page Kirk have exceeded all my expectations. Deciding to have a complete career change to accountancy after completing a Biology degree at university and working in sports development for five years had the potential to be extremely overwhelming. However, Page Kirk guided me through the process which allowed me to settle into my role and feel excited about taking on the challenge. Since becoming a fully qualified Chartered Accountant at the start of 2021, there has been continued support from the partners, providing opportunities which will allow me to develop the skills required to progress to the next stage in my career. The support network at Page Kirk is fantastic. If you ever need help with anything, whether it be your work, exams or studying, there is always someone to lend a hand.”

Matthew Laurenti

“After graduating from university, working at Page Kirk has offered me the opportunity to further extend my knowledge in accounting, audit and tax through the ACA training programme as well as being trusted with actual work. In the short time I have been here I have gotten to know many skilled and experienced colleagues as well as other trainees who have shown me the ropes and helped me to settle in. The culture is reflected through the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff who are always willing to go out of their way to provide help. I work with a diverse group, some of whom were in my shoes not so long ago making it extremely easy to have a good relationship and relate to each other. I look forward to enhancing my skillset even further and facing the challenges that this demanding but rewarding work provides.”

Annes Hussain

“Working at Page Kirk has enabled me to pursue my dream of becoming a qualified Tax Professional. Deciding to start my career off at the firm has proved to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The support I have received here, both on a professional and personal level, has been fantastic. Studying towards the joint ACA-CTA qualification has been challenging so far, but all of my colleagues have been wonderful in guiding me through the studying process. The number of questions I have been asking is far too many to count! However, everyone here is extremely patient and supportive. The expertise of my more senior colleagues and their willingness to pass on their experiences to more junior members of staff is what I value most about working at Page Kirk.”

Luke Shacklock

“I joined Page Kirk on the graduate scheme in September 2018 following a placement year with the firm while at university. Page Kirk have supported my ambition to study for the ACA CTA joint programme, and in July 2021 I completed the final exams to become an ACA Chartered Accountant and I am now working towards the last elements to become a CTA Chartered Tax Advisor. Page Kirk has provided me with excellent study support which has helped me in passing all my exams on the first attempt! Alongside my studies, I have been afforded the opportunity to work across a broad range of businesses and have had a comprehensive exposure to many disciplines within public practice, which is not usually the case when training at some of the larger firms with strict divisional segregation.”

Martin Cull

“Having graduated with a non-accountancy related degree and jumping straight into the ACA qualification, I thought I may be at a disadvantage and struggle in comparison to those with more experience than me. However, the support from the other members of the team during my time at work and studying has meant that my first year has flown by smoothly, allowing me to settle in quickly.

I have learnt so much during my studies and being able to put all of that into practice day-to-day makes it much more rewarding.”

Martin Cull
