Phil works in our Accounts and Audit department, where he helps prepare year-end accounts, tax returns and statutory audits. He enjoys getting into the detail and making sure the figures are accurate, while helping clients meet their reporting and compliance requirements.

After making a career change into accountancy, Phil joined Page Kirk in 2026.Before this, he spent six years working as a medical doctor in neonatal intensive care. He qualified from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 2020, having previously gained a first-class honours degree in Biomedical Science from St George’s, University of London.

His medical career developed many of the skills he now brings to accountancy, including analytical thinking, attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure. His experience of explaining complex information clearly and making decisions based on detailed evidence also gives him a valuable perspective when working with clients and their financial information.

Having always enjoyed working with numbers, accountancy felt like a natural direction when the time came for a career change. He started by studying the foundation level of AAT and found that he really enjoyed it. He is now working towards his ACA qualification to become a Chartered Accountant.
