Who can do the ACA qualification and join the graduate scheme at Page Kirk?

You don’t need an accounting, finance or business degree to study for the ACA at Page Kirk. People with non-accountancy degrees are welcome, from Science & Engineering to Arts and Humanities. We accept all disciplines onto our graduate and placement schemes.

After you have finished our Graduate Scheme, there is an opportunity to take part in our International Exchange Programme.

For three months you live and work in the USA.

“Participating in the work exchange programme was a transformative experience for me. It provided an incredible opportunity to immerse myself in a different culture and professional environment. I was initially motivated by a desire to experience America beyond a tourist’s perspective and to gain insight into American accounting practices. The hospitality and support from my colleagues at Wegner were exceptional, helping me navigate the differences in accounting terminology, standards and technology with ease. From engaging in not-for-profit audits to enjoying unique local events, every moment contributed to my personal and professional growth. This exchange has broadened my horizons, reinforced the value of stepping out of my comfort zone and left me with lasting memories and friendships.”

“Over the course of 10 weeks, I have participated in a lot of activities, met many people, and enjoyed every part of it. My favourite places were London and York. Taking part in this programme has been the experience of a lifetime. I was able to make connections I won’t forget and memories I will cherish forever. Although I am sad to go, I am excited to get back home and tell my family and friends all about it.”

Why choose to study the ACA qualification?

The ACA is a qualification prescribed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

It typically takes three years to complete and is valued around the world in business, accountancy practice and the public sector.

The ACA is the required qualification for those looking to be chartered accountants and finance leaders across the world. Globally recognised, the ACA has evolved over time to remain future-proof and provide you with the technical and professional skills required to make a difference in the world of business.

The qualification is made up of four elements, which provide students with a combination of finance knowledge, accountancy skills and real-world business experience. They are:

450 days of practical work experience

Offering invaluable insights into the realities of a career in chartered accountancy.

14 exam

modules

Covering a broad range of topics including: financial management, law, assurance and business strategy.

Professional development

Preparing you to successfully handle different situations that you’ll encounter throughout your career.

Ethics and professional scepticism

Providing you with the skills to work under close scrutiny and be confident you are making the right decisions.

Here are some of the reasons the ACA is so highly respected…

Adaptable Set of Skills

The ACA qualification will ensure that you are capable of managing a variety of financial functions within a business, whether the market is booming or bust.

Flexibility

At Page Kirk, we have spent years perfecting the way we deliver the ACA qualification to our trainees, ensuring that you get the best combination of theory and hands-on practical experience. The ACA also offers flexibility when it comes to taking exams, ensuring that they can be fitted around you, your work and college.

Variety

Made up of four main elements and fifteen separate modules, the ACA is designed to provide you with experience in finance, accountancy skills and real-world business experience. Towards the end of your qualification, alongside help from your mentor, you will be able to decide on the specific path you want to follow throughout the next phase in your career.

Ethical Scepticism

The ACA has ethics and professional scepticism embedded into the qualification, meaning you will feel certain that you are making the right decisions. This also ensures that the ACA remains as one of the most highly-respected business qualifications, with the ICAEW protecting the quality and level of trust in the accounting profession.
