“I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at Page Kirk. I chose to do my placement here because I wanted to work in a firm that offers a wide range of experience in a supportive environment, and it’s been exactly that. Throughout the year, I have been able to apply theoretical knowledge taught at university to real world scenarios, such as preparing financial statements, assisting with audits, and understanding tax computations, which has deepened my practical understanding of accountancy. The support from my colleagues has been amazing, everyone is approachable which gave me confidence in asking questions and getting involved. It is encouraging to be part of a group of trainees as we have been able to learn together, support each other and share the experience. The most enjoyable part of my role is the variation in work and how much responsibility I have been trusted with. This experience has helped me grow and I now feel confident entering my final year at university.”

“A standout feature of my placement year at Page Kirk was the opportunity to work in both tax and accounts and audit this has given me a greater understanding of the accountancy profession and allowed me to apply my theoretical knowledge I had learnt at university. Everyone at Page Kirk has been really welcoming and are always there to provide help when we need it. Studying towards the certificate level of the ACA qualification has improved my understanding of the work I have completed in the office and has set me up to progress with the ACA qualification and become a chartered accountant post-graduation. Having completed my placement year, I returned to Loughborough University to complete my degree in Mathematics and Accountancy where I was able to apply my new skills and knowledge.”

“Having completed a placement year, I have returned on the graduate programme, training towards the ACA CTA joint qualification. The idea of being a qualified chartered accountant was a big factor drawing me to return, having plenty of time to study towards this, whilst gaining practical experience across the accounts, audit and tax departments is a combination few firms in practice offer. Having been interested in tax on my placement, being offered to broaden my knowledge and work towards the CTA as well is an opportunity I was very keen for. The other big factor in my return was the socially active (and helpful) colleagues I am surrounded by along the way.”

“I am very pleased about having secured a graduate scheme with Page Kirk after my excellent placement experience. I decided to accept the offer as I gained so much during this initial year, and I can tell the following 3 years will be no different. I was able to complete the first stage of three of the ACA qualification to become a chartered accountant on my placement, and I am now already working towards the second stage. I can't say I knew much about accounting before my placement but after being immersed into the industry I am excited to be on this career path where I hope to achieve my qualification and rise to managerial positions when I'm ready.”

“I decided to go for a role at Page Kirk during my placement year as I wanted to get a proper understanding of what it would be like to work in the accounting industry before I graduate. Having the opportunity to receive the CFAB qualification whilst on placement is something that stood out to me when applying to Page Kirk. It will help serve as a great entry route to chartered accountancy. Everyone at Page Kirk’s made me feel very welcome and I’m glad to be working in a large office surrounding by many colleagues who I can reach out to for help.”
