As Easter approaches, our team has been spreading some much-needed sweetness and joy by donating Easter eggs to the NSPCC. Amanda Willis, who coordinates our charity efforts, explains more.

At Page Kirk, we believe in giving back to our communities and making a positive difference in people's lives. As part of our commitment to corporate responsibility, we are supporting a different charity each month in 2023. During March, it's been the turn of the NSPCC.

NSPCC

The NSPCC is the UK's leading children's charity, dedicated to protecting children and preventing abuse. For over 130 years, they have been working to keep children safe through a range of services, including working with schools, providing therapeutic services, offering national helplines, conducting research and campaigning for change. On their website it says, “In the average primary school class, at least two children have suffered abuse or neglect,” they are fighting for every childhood!

As an accountancy firm based in the Midlands, we are particularly proud to support the NSPCC's Midlands Hub, based in Nottingham. The Hub, which has been based out of Jenny Farr house in Nottingham since 1985, provides a range of services to support local families, including their Direct Services team and Childline colleagues, as well as those from the Schools Service, Local Campaigns and Fundraising.

One of the programmes that the Direct Services team is currently running is DART, a domestic abuse recovery programme for parents and their children. The team also runs InCtrl – an online safety programme for primary age children – and Pregnancy in Mind, a therapeutic service for expectant parents who are experiencing anxiety or depression.

At Page Kirk, we wanted to do our part to support the NSPCC's important work, which is why we recently donated Easter eggs to children who are in the DART and InCtrl programmes. We hope that our donation will bring some normality, joy and happiness to these children who have faced difficult times in their young lives.

Beth Thomas, who works at the Midlands Hub, expressed her gratitude for our donation, saying, "Thank you so much for your wonderful donation. All of those Easter goodies are on their way to some lovely children that we've been working with over the last couple of months on various programmes."

As a team, we are proud to support the NSPCC and the important work that they do. We encourage others to get involved and support this important charity as well. If you would like to find out how you can help, please visit their website: https://www.nspcc.org.uk/

The donations in March follow our success earlier in the year. In January, we donated a bunch of baby items to Baby Basics, while in February, we raised some cash for Brinsley Animal Rescue.

We are proud to announce in April the team will be supporting Nottinghamshire Sexual Violence Support Services (Notts SVS Services). They provide support to anyone in Nottinghamshire over the age of 18 who has experienced any form of sexual violence, either recently or in the past. To raise much needed funds for all the services they provide, we shall be holding dress-down days, sweepstakes and a Coronation-themed raffle.
