Our accountancy graduate and placement schemes are still open for applications. Our head of HR, Imogen Eley, gives us the lowdown on how to launch your career with Page Kirk.

Page Kirk have been running graduate and placement schemes for many years now, with just about all our placement students moving on to do our graduate scheme and successfully becoming chartered accountants. Many trainees have progressed to managerial roles and even to partner level.

What we offer

Placement Scheme

A year's placement with us is a great way of seeing if accountancy is for you. It not only looks great on your CV, but also gives you a real insight into what being an accountant is all about. Not only that, but you get paid too! You will also be offered the opportunity to complete the first year of the ACA qualification as part of the CFAB scheme. If you feel this career path is for you – and you impress us on your placement year – then you will be asked to join our graduate scheme.

Graduate Scheme

A three-year graduate training programme for chartered accountants and tax professionals. Throughout your training contract, you will be provided with the best technical training and gain practical experience across a wide range of audit, accounting and tax work. Whilst studying, you will have your own mentor and can expect full support from our team.

The qualification

On our graduate scheme to become a chartered accountant, you will study towards the ACA qualification with ICAEW Chartered Accountants. This qualification means you can work in industry as well as in practice and is globally recognised.

The qualification is made up of four elements which provide students with a combination of finance knowledge, accountancy skills and real-world business experience. They are:

  • 450 days of practical work experience
  • 15 exam modules
  • Professional development
  • Ethics and professional scepticism

Here are some of the reasons the ACA is so highly respected…

Adaptable set of skills

With the pandemic continuing to affect the global economy, there is a huge demand for employees who can adapt to a disrupted market. The ACA qualification will ensure that you are capable of managing a variety of financial functions within a business, whether the market is booming or bust.

Flexibility

At Page Kirk, we have spent years perfecting the way we deliver the ACA qualification to our trainees, ensuring that you get the best combination of theory and hands-on practical experience. The ACA also offers flexibility when it comes to taking exams, ensuring that they can be fitted around you, your work and college.

Variety

Made up of four main elements and fifteen separate modules, the ACA is designed to provide you with experience in finance, accountancy skills and real-world business experience. Towards the end of your qualification, alongside help from your mentor, you will be able to decide on the specific path you want to follow throughout the next phase in your career.

Ethical Scepticism

The ACA has ethics and professional scepticism embedded into the qualification, meaning you will feel certain that you are making the right decisions. This also ensures that the ACA remains one of the most highly-respected business qualifications, with the ICAEW protecting the quality and level of trust in the accounting profession.

Recruitment Process

We try and make the recruitment process as simple as possible so you can focus on what's important: completing your degree. To apply, all you have to do is upload a copy of your CV, a covering letter and complete a personal profile online.

Are you wondering where the interview tasks or aptitude tests are? Well, don't worry! We don't do them. Here at Page Kirk, we focus on you and whether you would be a good fit for our firm, as well as if we would be a good fit for you. Our recruitment process is all about getting to know you.
