Athletic accountants on their marks to support local charity

To celebrate the Olympics taking place in Tokyo, members of the Page Kirk team are taking part in an athletics-themed fundraiser for our charity of the year, Emmanuel House.

Between Saturday 31st July and Thursday 5th August, we will be completing 160.3 miles collectively, creating our own torch relay and passing famous landmarks within Nottingham. Although 160.3 miles may seem quite random, it is the distance between Fukushima and the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, which was Japan's stretch of the celebrated ritual.

Each team member is responsible for passing a famous Nottingham landmark while trying to collectively reach the 160.3-mile target.

We'll be passing:

  • Emmanuel House HQ
  • Newstead Abbey
  • Major Oak
  • The City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest FC
  • Nottingham Castle
  • Papplewick Pumping Station
  • Green's Windmill
  • Holme Pierrepont
  • Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem
  • The Brian Clough Statue
  • Trent Bridge
  • Wollaton Hall

We are taking part in this challenge to raise money for our charity of the year, Emmanuel House. The team agreed to support the organisation throughout 2021, as they provide life-changing rehabilitation and advice services for vulnerable people in Nottingham. The charity operates locally and helps to enable vulnerable adults to make positive changes in their lives, supporting those living with drug addiction, abuse or homelessness.

The support is provided without prejudice or judgment, helping to provide the bare essentials such as food, clothing and shelter that are often all too easy to take for granted.

By providing services such as victim support, debt advice and access to professional services, Emmanuel House enables vulnerable people to make positive changes in their lives. The charity receives no government funding for their core services and relies entirely on the generosity of donors and fundraisers.

If you would like to support Page Kirk and help us raise money for this remarkable charity, you can do so by visiting our fundraising page.
