Happy retirement, Sue!

Sue Newman first arrived at Page Kirk on 24th August 1994, when we were known as Kirk, Cree Jepson and our offices were based on King Street. She joined initially as Payroll Administrator then worked her way up to be Payroll Manager.

Sue has played a critical role in keeping the department up to date with the various changes in legislation and technologies over the past 26 years. With payroll being one of our most popular services, Sue has worked tirelessly to ensure that our clients' employees and contractors are paid on time without any fuss.

Today Sue will say goodbye to the team after 26 years of service.

When asked about her time at Page Kirk she said:

“It has been very enjoyable. Not sure I would have stayed this long if I didn't enjoy it! I do like payroll work, although it has changed a lot in 26 years, It is much more in-depth now and we need to know a lot more legislation. I won't miss the strict deadlines and the stress of them, but I will miss my colleagues – particularly Nicola and Tracey, who both helped the department to run smoothly! We have been a good team and have worked well together. I will also miss the clients, as I have known some of them for a long time. And the social events – we have had some great nights out!”

John Wallis, Managing Partner commented:

“It really has been a pleasure working with Sue, as she has helped significantly in developing the firm's client-centred approach, ensuring that their payroll has always been timely and reliable.

There is no doubt that Sue's retirement will be a great loss to the team, although I am sure that she has passed on her wealth of knowledge. I would like to thank Sue for her admirable hard work and commitment to the firm over the years and wish her the very best for her retirement.”

In retirement, Sue is hoping to spend more time with her family, including her husband John (with whom she recently celebrated her Ruby Wedding Anniversary), her two daughters, Anna and Sarah, and granddaughter Alba Grace.
