Work Exchange Programme

In June of this year, Brooke Davis arrived at Page Kirk all the way from her firm, AKT LLP in Oregon, United States. She came to the UK as part of an international exchange programme for qualified accountants through HCWA, Crowe Horwath International and CP America. She spent three months living and working in Nottingham. On Friday we wished Brooke bon voyage and she returned home.

Here is what she has to say about her experience:

“As an accountant from the United States, I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of a work exchange programme that had me living in Nottingham and working at Page Kirk for three months. The opportunity has been everything I wished it would be and more. I’ve had the chance to work in several industries and carry on intellectual conversations with other professionals regarding the differences in accounting policies and audit procedures in different countries. Everyone has been warm and welcoming, and made my experience once in a lifetime”.

Brooke has been at AKT LLP for four years and is currently a Senior Associate, before this she attended Northwest Christian College where she gained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Accounting. We wish her the best of luck in the future, and we hope to see her again soon.

Brooke exchanged with one of our Chartered Accountants, Tom Ignatowicz. Tom is gaining international audit and accounting experience at AKT LLP. We hope it is all going well for Tom, he is due back at the end of October, stay tuned to hear all about his experiences.
