Apprentice Tax Technician / ATT Trainee Tax Adviser / School Leaver
Are you sixth-form or college leaver looking to launch your career? We have a fantastic opportunity as an alternative to taking the University route into working life.
A well organised and conscientious Sixth-Form or College leaver who has completed A Levels, and who has good communication skills and a flair for problem solving. This role will appeal to someone who wants to kick-start their career by getting on-the-job experience whilst getting paid at the same time, as an alternative to taking the University route into working life.
Taking the first steps into a career in taxation has never been more exciting! Modern day careers in taxation offer a huge amount of variety and intellectual stimulation – with every annual budget the tax rules change, and individuals and businesses need help and advice navigating complex tax legislation.
Furthermore, HMRC’s ambition is: ‘to become one of the most digitally advanced tax administrations in the world’ – you may have heard of ‘Making Tax Digital’ in the news. This poses a huge opportunity for our firm and for our people and Page Kirk is making a conscious and concerted effort to blaze a trail into this digital era of taxation and accountancy.
This role has a very heavy focus around helping our clients stay on top of their tax compliance responsibilities, but there will also be opportunities to provide tax advice.
Alongside your responsibilities at work, you will undertake a training contract (apprenticeship agreement) and study towards completing the ATT qualification. Page Kirk will provide paid study leave and will fully fund your studies towards becoming an ATT qualified Taxation Technician.
Becoming ATT qualified and having practice experience on your CV is invaluable for a successful career in taxation; typically progressing your career within an accountancy practice (as a tax adviser). Once you are ATT qualified, the natural career progression in terms of further qualification would be to study towards becoming a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA).
